Anthem, Church of Living Water, Olympia, WA

Anthem at Church of Living Water is nestled at the southern most point of the Puget Sound in Olympia, the capitol city of Washington State. Puget Sound itself is a body of water through which ocean waters reach inland some 50 miles from the Pacific Coast. The waterway is a complex and intricate system of channels, inlets, estuaries, embayments and islands, providing ample opportunities for whale watching, fishing, kayaking and boating. To the east are the beautiful Washington Cascades, part of the Cascade Mountain Range which offer hundreds of miles of hiking, snow-shoeing, skiing and countless opportunities for camping, backpacking and mountain climbing in one of the world’s most beautiful and accessible mountain ranges, which includes the beautiful and majestic Mt. Rainier.

Church of Living Water’s Mission Statement is “BUILDING SOLID LIVES”. We believe that everything we do is tied to a soul; everything we don’t do is tied to a soul. We believe we must target our efforts so that our time and resources are equally divided between equipping those in our church to maturity in Christ and evangelizing the lost. We believe that half of our prayers, planning, staffing and ministry events should be directed to the unchurched and half to those already at Living Water. We exist to evangelize and equip in order to “Build Solid Lives” in every student, member and family who decides to make Living Water their church home. The Living Water family is not an institution. It is a family where everyone is loved and accepted. We are committed to establishing ministries that meet the needs of our church family and the community.

Anthem at Living Water is a leadership development program designed to empower and instruct young adults who are passionate about following Jesus and pursuing lives of meaning and ministry. Anthem is a full-time program where students are immersed into three pools of learning: hands-on training – where ministry skills are formed, curricular studies – where ministry understanding is formed and personal discipleship – where the ministering person is formed.

One thing that sets Anthem at Living Water apart is its focus on the local church. Our first-year students choose and focus on one ministry area: Worship, Pastoral, Children, Youth, Communications or Women. We have been called to develop young ministry leaders who will be able to serve the Lord faithfully and fruitfully in local church settings around the country and around the world.

Some of our graduates will go on to university or Bible College; others will go directly into church planting or various ministry positions; still others may enter the business world or start a family. No matter where our graduates go, however, the local church will be there, impacting communities with the power of the Gospel. We believe that our focus on the local church prepares students to be effective, life-long ministers wherever God calls them.
